Our Vision

At Salisbury Kindergarten, we aspire to be a joyful, inclusive, and inspiring early childhood community where every child is truly seen, heard, and valued. Guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we seek to honour each child’s individuality, ideas, and natural curiosity. By using the Marte Meo Method, educators build meaningful relationships with children through everyday communication and interactions.

We envision a place where wellbeing is the foundation for learning, and where rich relationships and thoughtful environments empower children as capable, creative thinkers. Together with families and the community, we strive to co-construct learning experiences that celebrate wonder, foster belonging, and support each child to flourish.

Our Mission

To bring this vision to life, we are committed to creating a nurturing environment that places children’s wellbeing at the heart of all we do. We embrace each child’s unique identity and ideas, providing rich opportunities for curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Through meaningful partnerships with families and our community, we co-construct learning experiences that inspire confidence, joy, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Philosophy

At Salisbury Kindergarten, we provide a safe, warm, and welcoming environment where every child and family feels valued and supported. We believe each child is unique, developing at their own pace and in their own way. Our role is to nurture confident, curious, and capable learners who are encouraged to explore, take risks, and build on their strengths.

We respect and celebrate the diversity of our children, families, and community, recognising the knowledge and experiences they bring to our kindergarten. Learning is continuous, connecting home, kindergarten, and the wider world.

Play is central to learning, supported by rich and meaningful experiences that inspire discovery, creativity, and growth. We provide opportunities that foster children’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative development, including building meaningful relationships with educators and peers to develop empathy, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.

Our educators work in partnership with families and the community, building respectful, reciprocal relationships to support children’s learning and wellbeing. Together, we celebrate each child’s individuality, nurture their natural curiosity, and support them to flourish.
